For essential gut (digestive) health and complete digestion, a person must fully digest their food and allow the gut to rest. Consider that it takes your body four hours to digest protein. I suggest the average person eat a small, healthy meal every four hours. I also suggest the average person stop eating four hours before going to bed. This will allow your gut to fully digest your food while awake and allows your gut to rest as you sleep.
