Are you Ready to Not Worry about Birth Control Anymore?

Do any of the following describe you?

My family is complete.

I would like to experience the security of knowing I will not have to deal with the possibility of an unplanned pregnancy.

I am tired of having to take a pill, use a patch, or insert or use the various forms of birth control on the market today.

I like the idea of an easy, safe, non-hormonal permanent form of birth control.

I am too busy to deal with weeks of recovery from a tubal ligation (tying your tubes) or hysterectomy.

If these statements ring true to you, the Center for True Harmony Wellness & Medicine has the answer you are looking for. True Harmony now offers two procedures for permanent contraception: Adiana and Essure. Both procedures are less invasive and involve far less recovery time than a tubal ligation or hysterectomy. They are performed in the office setting without requiring an open skin incision or general anesthesia. This affords you very quick recovery time.

How the Adiana and Essure work:

Inserts are placed in the fallopian tubes delivered through the vagina and cervix. The procedure usually takes less than 20 minutes and recovery time is minimal. Most patients can return to normal activity within 1 or 2 days.

Following the procedure, a natural barrier forms around the inserts over the next couple of weeks and prevents sperm and egg from meeting. A confirmatory test is done in three months to make sure the fallopian tubes are blocked. As with all medical procedures, there are some risks involved and there are some patients for whom these procedures are not the best choice. You should talk with your provider about which method would be best suited for your needs. These procedures are normally covered by the major health insurance plans.

This is what Dr. Christine Brass, Board Certified OB/GYN of True Harmony, has to say about the Essure.

"This is so simple for the doctor and the patient. My patients are so happy with the results- they have no downtime, they have an easy recovery, they feel good afterward. I feel confident about the success of the procedure because we can recheck in three months to confirm the procedure was a success"

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

Will this change my menstrual cycle?

No. Because it is non-hormonal, the procedure does not affect the hormones that control the menstrual cycle.

Are these procedures appropriate for every woman?

No. These procedures are only appropriate for women who are not planning to have children in the future. There are also some uterine abnormalities that may interfere with placement of the inserts, and so may be inappropriate for some women.
